Ornate Inc. is a design practice with a forge attached — not a machine shop that also does railings.
Gurpreet trained as an architect before he ever ran a workshop — the reverse of how most metalwork in the region gets made, and the reason the work reads as drawn rather than assembled.
Most metalwork here is designed by whoever is doing the fabricating. Ornate runs the other way: every commission begins as a drawing, made by someone trained to read a building before he reads a section of steel.
A drawing carries intent that isn't always written down — proportion, restraint, the logic of a façade. Reading that correctly is a design skill, not a fabrication one, and it's what keeps a piece from looking bolted onto a building rather than drawn for it. A neoclassical elevation and a minimal one call for an entirely different vocabulary — different scroll proportions, different rail sections, different finish.
We are not a catalogue business. Nothing here is ordered off a size chart, and there's no standard-size run to fall back on — every commission is drawn for the site it's going into, sampled and approved before it's built. If a drawing doesn't exist for it yet, one is drawn.
Commissions mostly arrive through the architects and designers below — real firms, working across the tricity and beyond.
Private homes in the northern sectors of Chandigarh, and across Panchkula, Kasauli and Shimla, including Farmville properties — with pieces exported as far as the United States. Homeowner details are kept private by default; references are shared directly, on request.

Drawings, a site photo, or a rough idea — we scope what's actually being asked for.
The first stage on any real commission is a site visit and survey.
A shop drawing and a material sample, both signed off before anything is cut.
Cut, formed and welded in the Mohali workshop, under our own quality check.
Fitted on site by our own crew, and handed over.
